The most abundant amino acid found in muscle tissue cells. L-Glutamine influences protein synthesis, growth hormone, glycogen storage and enhances the immune system. Supplementation with L-Glutamine can prevent glutamine depletion in muscles after stress (workouts), as well as increase protein synthesis in muscles and cellular hydration. Additionally, L-Glutamine also decreases protein degradation (BCAA catabolism), resulting in bigger, stronger muscle cell.
Many athletes have found it beneficial to use a 2-5g dose immediately after workouts and 2 hours post workout, with additional doses on an empty stomach either last thing at night or first thing in the morning in periods of heavy stress.
