Trek Bikes and Discovery at Revolution

Saturday 18th November saw another exhilarating round of the Revolution track series at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester. This round, perhaps more than any other, was packed full of international cycling talent. Most importantly, from Trek’s point of view, and let’s face it, this is Trek’s Breaking News, was the appearance of Discovery’s Roger Hammond and Yaroslav Popovych. To make things interesting, David Millar, Gilberto Simoni and Jimmy Casper were all there to race as well. Along with track aces Brad McGee and Bradley Wiggins this made for a frenzy of speculation.

The two Discovery stars were paired the Cofidis riders in the opening event, the Italian Pursuit, where the lead rider of each team, ( home straight v back straight), peels off each lap to leave just one rider to finish the sprint. This left Wiggins and Millar battling it out for top honours with Wiggins flame shining brightest on the night.

Roger Hammond shook things up in the Elite Devil/Scratch race by exploding off the front just over halfway but was eventually reeled in and watched fellow Brit Wiggins take the win.
